About Technoscience & Society (ITS)
ITS is building a global hub for interdisciplinary research on how science and technology shape society. It focuses on understanding the social, political, economic forces behind scientific practices, emerging technologies, and innovation. Its research is organised into four major themes:
- Technoscientific injustices: how emerging technologies affect different groups and how to make innovation more equitable
- Technoscientific economies: how economic forces shape technological development and priorities
- Technoscientific pasts & futures: using the history of science and technology to imagine more inclusive futures
- Technoscientific bodies & minds: how science and technology define health and illness, and how these definitions reinforce or challenge social inequalities
